The question was answered. The chair stated that this was a personnel matter and that there were privacy implications so it could not be discussed. My question would have been what are the qualities that they are looking for in a CEO and that was answered when it was revealed that the CEO position is posted on the BTC website under Job Opportunities. As this is now probably a legal issue we are not going to get anything more from the Board.

I was at Town Hall in Burlington and this question was not answered at that meeting. Seems like it should be answered, clearly and an informative way.

Two votes for joint members who are upset by recent changes within the BTC

Realizing this page is read by BTC members that are upset by the termination of our CEO as well as our current BTC board members – I will take this opportunity to address both groups. First, to our current BTC board members - you have made a decision the majority of you have agreed upon. Making judgments are why we elected you. As board members, we chose you to make wise and well thought out decisions. Hopefully, before this vote, you were well informed about the reasons for the motion as well as the expected ramifications. Hopefully, you were not influenced into making your decision by dominant members of your board. Hopefully, you didn’t make your decision based on personality conflicts. Hopefully, you didn’t make this ruling to transform the BTC into more of a corporate business organization. Hopefully, some of you are not having second thoughts. I prefaced all of my sentences with “hopefully” as the current secrecy you have created about your ruling, we BTC members, do not have a clue as to why you made such a questionable decision. Many of us feel your ruling was wrong and will have a long and lasting effect on our organization - unfortunately not for the better. To the BTC members that are upset with the lightning termination of our CEO – You have signed the petition asking for clarity, asking for a reversal of the decision, asking for the return of the person you feel best represented our organization to the public. There is more you can do. If you feel strongly enough to have signed the petition go that one step farther and ask one other BTC member to stand with you (or perhaps two or three). Ask them to sign the petition. Beth touched a lot of us personally with her talent, her leadership, her devotion to work, and her passion for preserving the Escarpment.
