There is no surprise, Miss Littman, that the pathetic people who are born of one of the human sexes but have the erroneous idea that they would prefer to be of the opposite sex might eventually realize that their preference is ridiculous, impossible, stupid does not have to be scientifically established--it is natural law, common sense, whatever you want to call it. Further, give up with Brown--it is a common prostitute, phony, artificial, establishment--get a job with Uber.

Disgraceful attempt to discredit Lisa Littman's paper because it includes inconvenient truths.

Research should not be censored by political activism.

It's very sad to see how a small and aggressive group of activists is trying to shut down important research

There needs to be more research into this epidemic. Mental health concerns are notably prevalent in young people and adolescents, and it must be considered when dealing with individuals potentially suffering from gender dysphoria.

We need to defend academic freedom. If critics of transactivists are muzzled thrn we are entering fascist terrain. Orwell 2.0

We, the signatories to this letter, overwhelmingly support the rights of transgender people, but we want better diagnostic and mental health care for youth who suddenly demand serious medical interventions, particularly in the absence of a history of dysphoria. We believe that medical interventions that may benefit some individuals may not help, and may even harm, others, as already evidenced by the growing number of desisters and detransitioners, many of whom have already suffered from irreversible side effects of their earlier medical transition . We support more research to help distinguish between the two groups, and Dr. Littman's study is an important first step.

We desperately need academic integrity in these matters. Keep research free from transactivism.

We need the freedom to research information about rapid onset gender dysphoria.

I watched my daughter decide to transition and then detransition and then actually tell me this was a phase. I’m feeling so ill for the teens who don’t get to just phase through and will have to endure the lifetime of remorse for scaring and genital mutilation they chose during this phase.

Everything should be studied. Nothing should be off limits. Sensitive topics like this are the most important to study to ensure that the right approaches are taken to help people.

What's left behind as research should always be the most realistic presentation of evidence, no matter what. Our future, our more informed attitudes on mores, disorders, and clinical knowledge relies on empiricism not opinion.

Is this what academia has come to -- objective truth and research that supports it is deemed inappropriate?

I had a friends daughter go through this "trans-trender" effect. It's disenheartening to want to suppress a scientific study in the name of the latest trendy ideology, or the fear of the activists of that ideology.
