Differences of opinion should be settled by scientific debate, not by censoring the research of one side. Retracting this study will have a chilling effect on any research about those who have poor outcomes from transition who definitely do exist.

I have read the article. There is nothing in the article that could possibly justify the response of Brown University.

This research very accurately depicts our experience as parents of two children who transitioned as young adults. Each came to their decision independently and for seemingly different reasons, though the commonality was that the transition was rapid and without prior evidence of gender dysphoria. There is still so much more we need to know in this field. We should be encouraging rather than shutting down efforts to reach a greater understanding that can help young people, and direct parents and medical practitioners to provide the most appropriate care.

Counter research with research, not censorship.
Evidence, not ideology, should guide the research and clinical care of children and adolescents.

I encourage research that will lead to the best treatment for every child and young adult. There isn’t a one size fits all solution for those experiencing dysphoria.

Science should never be censored, particularly because of political bias and backlash from activists who can't tolerate empirical data. The health of children depends on rigorous inquiry to produce the data necessary to provide appropriate medical care.

It’s against the spirit of academic enquiry to close down a valuable line of research because of an ideology. Child safeguarding is more important than feeding delusion.

I hope social justice doesn't destroy science's sole purpose of thruth. Research, very often is controversial, but that's part of the game.
