Academic freedom is an incredibly important thing.

The trans community is conflicted with deciphering whether they are a recognized gender or have a mental illness. In spite of support, the very mention of the question, especially from cisgendered women, is met with rage, accusations, and even death/rape threats. This study from a prestigious and extremely diverse college should be accepted as support for the trans community, not as its enemy. Bigotry stems from ignorance, not science.

Science should always stand with the truth.

My neighbor’s daughter came out as trans at age 16 or 17. She was in a group at school who also identified the same way. Within a 2 years, she had phased out of it. I think she even has a boyfriend now. It was almost as if she found it to be a trendy thing at the time and latched onto it.

This mass hysteria, connected to political correctness, and attempting to shut down scientific research, may soon go the way of the "false memory syndrome" - another example of the power of suggestion - which left in its wake much human suffering. This time children are once again to be sacrificed on the altar of our present day version of hysterical contagious conformity.

Do your damn job and defend academic and scientific inquiry and their findings.

Wholly unacceptable suppression of information about important research on ROGD and its effects, esp. on girls. Shameful kowtowing to identitarian politics prosecuted by a bullying and vocal group of activists. Scientific research must never be treated politically in this way.

Don't let activists stop true scientific inquiry.

Everyone should have their rights protected as society gets more and more punitive - especially academics to explore all aspects of being human, and adolescents to explore their individuality without being dehumanised by political activists.

There's absolutely no reason to censor academic work - shame on Brown U.

Science should not suffer at the hands of someone's feelings.

Half of modern peer reviewed papers cannot be reproduced. Once falsification gets its nose in the tent to prove one idea the pressure to publish causes it to spread. Activists who avoid public debate are the most vicious about forcing science to align with their "cause."

How can Brown seriously call itself an institution of higher learning if it shuts down whole schools of thought on controversial topics? Shame on you. Where is your academic freedom?

I support this important research

It's a disgrace that an investigation into one of the most important issues of today is being swept under the carpet to appease a few fanatical misogynists, who are furthering the cause of child abuse and completely unnecessary medication and surgery.

Universities and research staff should not cower from "controversial" findings. They should stand by their methodology, and if so moved, conduct further studies.

Sadly, I think it’s to late to save the university

Leave politics out of research. Conclusions don't have to be popular.
