I applaud and support Lisa Littman's attempts at rigorous research in this area. It is particularly heinous to see an Ivy League institution take any action curtailing academic freedom. What next, Brown University? Where will you draw the line?

Dr. Littman's research is based on gathered *facts*. Criticize her conclusion, or criticize her research methodology, or say that her conclusion warrants additional research, but do NOT suppress this important work. Her conclusion matches with real-life observations.

As a transgender person, I've seen evidence ROGD is real and stand behind Littman's study. The behavior of Brown University is nothing short of shameless.

This is an important study of rapid onset gender disphoria. Brown University needs to uphold the freedom of academics to conduct research in this area, and resist pressures from political lobby groups to close down academic inquiry and debate.

This is a no brainer. As a gay man, I find it absurd that this study’s objective findings would be too offensive for some within my tribe and “community” to digest and analyze with sober minds. It’s anti science to censor such critical studies to avoid doing more damage to future children who may be confused. Publish this study. If the study is found to be tainted with bias or poor design, let the scientific community hash that out in public.

It's extraordinary for a dean to withdraw support for a study, especially one by an untenured researcher. This is inimical to the spirit of open inquiry. The well-being of trans youth & other sexual minorities is best served by more research, not less. Professor, Department of Family & Consumer Studies, University of Utah

This is a vote in support of research and academic freedom. I fully support trans people in their equal rights. Trans rights are human rights.

As an academic and detransitioned young woman, I find this sort of research critical to understanding the situation of women like me, and I see this needless second review as reprehensible caving to public opinion rather than peer review, contrary to the spirit of academia.

Does anyone think that adolescents are less suggestible than the McMartin pre-school children?

Research into this and related issues is CRITICAL. I support this and more research.

It’s shameful that a university should suppress the research of its own academics.
