Shameful of Brown University to pull public acknowledgement of one of their researchers on an urgently needed research field, just because of activist pressure.

This study is an important first step in correcting the disbelief that children "know" they were "born in the wrong body". There is too much at stake, most definitively, the permanent damage to healthy young bodies. Children and teens, even young adults, really can't grasp the permanence of this decision until they reach age 25, due to undeveloped brain tissue.
Let them have a chance to grow up undamaged. Treat the underlying symptoms NOT the ambiguous assumption they were born in the wrong body. If even a percentage of these kids grow out of it, it will be for the good. The ones who don't have more than just GD so should be treated symptomaticly.
I support Dr. Littman's study.

I heartily support the research of Dr. Lisa Littman of Brown University into the exponentially increasing phenomenon of ROGD.

Free and accessible academic research is vital in all fields but particularly in cases where vulnerable people and children are concerned. Identity politics and academia should be separated in the same ways we separate church and state. This separation does not mean disrespect to the other but merely that both need to operate independently to ensure progress rather than dogma is the goal.

Dr Littman is right. University broke the right to freedom of academic research I would not want to study in this primitive university of bastion of convenient dogma

The incidence of obsession with gender is *alarmingly* high among my cohort with female children under 25. I know from my own experience as an adolescent female that this phenomenon is new (else would 15% of my childhood friends now be transgender) and so must be correlated with other changes that have occurred since my own adolescence. Girls and young women should be free to dress and behave however they like without being pressured to choose or declare a gender, nor still to permanently modify their bodies. "Radical acceptance" should have supporting every person in accepting themselves as they are as its primary goal

I am a sufferer of rapid onset gender euphoria. I completed a ful transition, including genital surgery by age 23. And one year later was just as suicidal as before. But now I am crippled for life. I will never have children or a normal relationship. I am 26 years old and my future has been devastated by misdiagnosis. Please, for the sake of many confused children, continue this important research.

As a educator of adolescents, I feel it is imperative that studies like these continue. At times, many young people have been confused about their sexuality, but those who have expressed confusing regarding their gender has always been rare. Now? I have noticed a dramatic increase in the young people who are experiencing this confusion. What we need are more scientific studies free from potentially harmful ideologies, so we can best help our kids.

You are betraying academic process by the startling steps you have taken. This doesn't just affect academic study in your country but across the world. You should rectify this as soon as possible by making a public statement and by advertising this excellent and important piece of academic work.

Please release the study and allow a free academic discourse over this very important issue rather than suppressing the research that contradicts the new politically correct stance. We need to save the generation of young people from this epidemic.

Trying to shut down and shut up this study is outrageous. Even a biased educator should be able to understand the concept that hiding facts does not change them.

It is essential that academic independence in research is preserved, especially in relation to health research. The phenomenon of gender dysphoria is not well understood in terms of cause or treatment. Medical practice has raced ahead of evidence based practice and the area of ROGD is particularly new and needs careful unbiased research. Nothing has been brought forward to indicate Lisa Littman has conducted her research in anything but a professional way.
It is important that every path to truth, always be supported.
