It would be a great loss if Brooke’s Restaurant is closed. They train the staff well and it is always a pleasure to visit.

This is a shameful decision and needs to be reversed- so much money has been spent on primping the campus up, yet an essential and exceptional educational facility, that benefits not only students but the rest of Oxford is not important?

This see,s to be a short-term-focused financial decision, without consideration of the broader issues. Brookes Restaurant is a huge asset to the university as well as OSHM, bringing PR and status and benefiting the wider community.

As a recent External Examiner for Oxford Brookes I am aware of the vocational importance and relevance of the facility. The students always showed appreciation of the practical experience which complimented the academic programme. It is an example of best practice.

I would be so sad, they have great value of prices and very good quality of food. Brookes restaurant is a very important and effective learning space for hospitality students like my self, moreover, it is a great place to take our families and loved ones for a good meal. A good place to study and relax as well as keep up with the industry standards while studying at Brookes. Brookes wouldn't be the same without Brookes restaurant.

Unique place and unique training opportunity. The restaurant is a key part of the professional training and is also important for community engagement. It showcases not only these young trainees but Oxford Brooks University as a whole. Why close it when universities should be creating more public engagement, not less??

How dare you close this restaurant. Best in Oxford by far. I have only just found out and will be looking into it. If this is anything to do with manager's and "money" I will be seriously angry and may do something both you and i will regret

It is vital that students studying Hospitality related degree programmes have the chance to practice their practical and people skills in a 'live' environment as part of their studies. Training Restaurants also provide the learning institution, an excellent space to showcase their programmes and students to local employers and visitors. This helps the outside world connect to the institution and potentially form collaborative links too. By closing training restaurants, we are in danger of losing our training edge and the identity of our courses. Brookes Restaurant is a vital part of the learning experience.

The hundreds of comments already posted speak volumes why this well established restaurant should be retained. It is a cornerstone and clear USP of the Hospitality degree programme and an essential ingredient in preparing students for industry. Put the learning and development to one side, it is clearly loved and popular with the local community, no mean feat for a neighbourhood restaurant. The benefits far outweigh the perceived challenges of retaining it and it would be a huge loss. Get more industry support, make the numbers work better and continue its core part of the hospitality department.

It would be a very misguided decision to close Brookes Restaurant. It has a fantastic reputation and gives the University's reputation a huge boost too.
