I've been using the restaurant since 1999 and have introduced many friends to it. We all love coming there and are gutted at the possibility of it being closed. We cannot understand why Oxford Brookes would close such a brilliant PR asset. Please re-think this madness.

Dear Sir. Isis Probus Club Sept 5th BROOKES RESTAURANT. On behalf of all our 40 PROBUS members who have enjoyed the restaurant many times over the years we would like to add our names to the petition. We are very concerned to hear about it's possible closure and feel it would be an irreplaceable loss to students who are starting their careers in catering. We feel it is a backward step to a restaurant that is held in high regard. Yours sincerely John Steven President.

I went to this restaurant to eat the food cooked by my daughter and her colleagues. The food was excellent and great value for money, would be a shame to end the great learning opportunity.

A great facility that Brookes, and all in Headington, should be proud of. Hang in there!

I have used the Brookes Restaurant for a number of years for our works Christmas meal which is always excellent. The restaurant is outstanding and I am amazed that itis being considered for closure.

I am aware that in common with all higher education establishments Oxford Brookes is facing financial constraints and that is what is behind this proposal. However given the reputation of the restaurant and the first class training opportunities it offers I wonder whether closure will not undermine the standing of the very course they are so proud of.

This is symptomatic of a wider trend in hospitality education for the resources for the development of professional practitioners being eroded through a mistaken belief that hospitality is just 'another business'. It is not, it requires the development of a level of professional expertise similar to other professions.

The Brookes Restaurant is vital to equip learners with the essential practical professional skills which are at the heart of the hospitality industry. Closing this facility will not only affect the learners ability to grow their confidence and skills in a safe, educational environment it will cause reputational damage to both the programmes and to the University and this should be avoided at all costs.

There is no better place in Oxford to eat or entertain. 5* food, service and staff. I can only think of some sort of political shenanigans, to move to close this superb establishment. Few restaurants can hold a candle to it. Closure would be the most disgraceful move ever.

I cannot believe anyone in their right minds would think of closing Brookes! It is one of my favourite places. I have introduced many friends to Brookes and all have been impressed. The food is of such a high standard with an interesting combination of flavours that it reminds me of a Michelin star restaurant I know in West London. It provides high quality training for young people from many countries. Just when we need to support hospitality and improve standards this award-winning restaurant with its excellent and dedicated staff is threatened. It has to be one of the most incomprehensible proposals I have ever encountered. Why even think of closing such a prestigious and valuable asset to a university? It will deprive students of the practical experience which is essential if they are to succeed in the hospitality business. I know from the many conversations I have had over many years how much they enjoy and value the course. I am certain the closure will damage the popularity of the course and that potential students will look elsewhere, thereby having a negative impact on the University's finances. Please think again.

With a Trip advisor score of 5 that is well deserved and you want to close? Winning multiple awards year after year and you want to close? Distilling high standards in fine cuisine and still you want to close? A sad day to loose such a treasure because you want to close!

Having seen many other training restuarants close down we will no longer be able to grow our own hospitality managers for the future.

Brookes Restaurant should not be closed. It provides an invaluable opportunity for the students to learn and experience the practicalities and challenges of hospitality in an authentic restaurant setting. We in the local community can't praise it highly enough.

Currently, my daughter is studying hospitality management at Brookes and working at the restaurant gave her a very good first impression what her future job might entail. She was always very positive about the restaurant and working in different positions was very motivating for her study.
