Against the Permanent Closure of Brookes Restaurant

To close the Brookes Restaurant is insanity - not only is it the best place to eat in Headington but it is essential for the students during the relevant courses but as a meeting place.

I have been restaurant since the first Brilliat Savarin Society was started in 1971. It is part of Oxford's history as well as its present and future.

Brookes Restaurant is a vital element of the Hospitality Management programme at Oxford Brookes supported and hugely enjoyed by members of the public whilst providing real life experience for students.

The Brookes restaurant is unique in Oxford, and for this reason, irreplaceable. The food is excellent, the young people training there utterly charming, the environment civilised and attractive. It is also an outstanding example of the ‘soft power’ this country so desperately needs because of Brexit, as many of the chefs and waiting staff are from around the world. Closing the restaurant is a form of cultural vandalism, too sad at this precarious time in our national history.

DON'T CLOSE DOWN THIS WONDERFUL PLACE !!!

It would be a short- sighted decision to close the Brookes restaurant for several reasons - it provides a world-class education , it is highly thought of and well- used by Oxford residents and , must importantly , would deprive the students of a unique opportunity to hone their skills in so many areas . Value isn't measured solely in monetary terms

The Brookes restaurant is a great asset to Brookes and to the local community. Closing it would be a great loss to both, a piece of management vandalism. Please keep it going!

This is a wonderful restaurant. Few in the land can beat it for its all round excellence. Teaching, regular lunches and the most outstanding special dinners. It would be a great loss and shame to Oxford if it were to close.

Brookes Restaurant has produced the finest quality food and service while training students. In the Headington area it is one of the finest dining facilities. I take guests there frequently and there have been no complaints, just unalloyed praise. Paul

This is one of the best restaurants in Oxford providing excellent food and wine as well as outstanding, friendly service. We would be deeply saddened to see it closed.

Please keep this restaurant going. It's the best place to eat in Headington. Surely it must be a big draw as a training experience? Let's hear from more students.

This is very valuable to the students as a learning tool and would disadvantage them if taken away. I have enjoyed a meal their on three occasions and thoroughly enjoyed the food and ambiance it offers to me as a member of the public. I will be very sorry to see it close.

I help organise many trips to this amazing restaurant throughout the year - many of my groups being elderly and with mobility issues. They all look forward to going to Brookes - where the staff are always courteous and helpful to our special needs. We will all be greatly saddened if Brookes Resturant closes. There are so few accessible venues with such good staff, varied and interesting menus and great tasting food. Please don't close Brookes Restaurant.
