Against the Permanent Closure of Brookes Restaurant

A good teaching environment for those doing the Hospitality and Management degree. It's a popular course which brings in a lot of revenue with tuition fees. Profits from the restaurant itself may not be a large amount but tuition fees paid must make up for the short fall?

The restaurant provides excellent experience for the students and it is always a pleasure to be served by them. Do not close a great venue!

I have been going to the Restaurant fairly regularly for the past 20 years and I feel it's one of the best places to eat in Oxfordshire, their Christmas Lunch is legendary. It must remain open.

Working at Brookes Restaurant was an important part of my hospitality career and allowed me to have exposure to my first management experience. I truly believe my understanding of hospitality wouldn’t be the same without Brookes Restaurant - it was my first and ONLY time working in the kitchen and I forever have respect for chefs because of that experience! I have eaten some delicious food cooked by students who could go on to a rewarding career. Can we know the reason for this decision?

Brookes restaurant is the key to making OSHM competitive - all the other top hospitality schools in the world have some form of restaurant to teach essential skills and basics.

My niece studies here presently!

Closing this restaurant would be a travesty. It provides such an amazing facility for hospitality students, and is a really lovely place to eat as a member of staff! I have happy memories of working at Brookes, and the restaurant played a part in that.

Why would anyone in their right mind consider closing such a successful restaurant with such a superb reputation? Please keep Brookes Restaurant open!!

From the u/g degree description "You will also spend time enhancing your practical skills in Brookes Restaurant and our modern kitchen." Quite difficult to achieve if the restaurant does not exist.

Utterly ludicrous idea - if the argument is that the restaurant costs money, then we'd better also close every other teaching room in the whole University. No more classrooms, labs, computer rooms unless they can show a profit!
