I ceritfy that I am a resident of New Hartford, CT, and I believe that both active and passive recreation should be allowed at Brodie Park South.
As has been the practice for years, the open field area should be available for active recreation, be it an organized youth or adult football league, youth or adult soccer leagues, youth or adult baseball or softball, lacrosse, field hockey or potentially any other active recreation group that is approved to use it by the Recreation Commission and/or the Town of New Hartford.

The momentum behind this push proves the town leadership cannot keep ignoring our demand to open Brodie Park South. We are sending a clear message that these fields belong to the residents and not to bureaucratic gatekeepers.

Totally ridiculous that this is even an issue. Let the sports leagues use the fields like they always have.
The town needs more room for sports not less. Quit wasting tax money on lawyers and let the kids play ball.
My kids have played there for years. We need to keep these fields open for the leagues.
Brodie Park is the heart of our town. It makes no sense to lock it down now when we need the space for the soccer teams.
So many memories at that park. Dont ruin it for everyone else just bc a few people complained.
