ADSL2+ service delivered by Consolidated falls far short of the federal standard for broadband Internet service. It traverses aging and fragile infrastructure and is thus subject to degradation.

My DSL service actually works well, but know many people on LDI have had significant problems so would like to explore broadband options.

Cell phone connections on GT Diamond are VERY tenuous, depending both on location, time of day, and traffic, so even for phones Broadband is crucial. Add to that any kind of data connectivity and internet, reliable high-speed internet is essential for keeping island residents viable.

I'm a freelance illustrator and have worked from home since moving to Peaks 28 years ago. I've had many levels of success trying to send large image files to clients and printers. Reliable, high-speed internet is a critical public service, particularly now that more education and health services are depending on it during the pandemic.

It's extremely important to keep workers, students and retirees connected with high speed reliable internet - both during a pandemic and after. Life will change after the pandemic making it just as necessary to be connected.

Our current level of service is unacceptable, it is so slow. I hope that it can be greatly improved.

Without the ability to telecommute many island families, including ours, could not survive here. Stable, high-speed internet is vital.

We currently subscribe to Spectrum for internet connection ($70+|- per mo) we’ve been assured it’s for super speed but it’s often mediocre at best)

Access to strong broadband is essential to allow islanders to work at home. COVID has speed up the trend toward increasing remote working opportunities. It will also be essential to streaming to our smart devices.
