Broad Street Update: Final Plan Petition

We bought the house in 2019, and one of the main reasons it was the school and we would appreciate bringing back the old plan.

Please keep the original school plan.

I live at 394 Fleetview Drive. Next year, my son will attend bedford south grade 1, while my youngest, 3 years old, will travel by bus to a school our family has never been exposed to, due to the decision of stopping PP program at Bedford south. A decision that was not communicated to us through these proposals. Please reconsider the boundaries.

382 Starboard Dr Bedford

We are a family of 2 kids living on Starboard Dr. age 6 (currently grade 1 at Bedford South) and age 13 (currently grade 8 at Rocky Lake Junior High). We were eagerly looking forward to seeing both our kids finally having an opportunity to attend school together as evident in the initial plans where our communities on starboard dr were included. I strongly emphasize the points stated regarding the unsuitability of the Rocky Lake Elementary School (RLES) from the lived experiences of my child. My kid attended RLES for 2 years and had horrible experiences from facilities standard and upkeep of basic amenities like bathroom to playground. As a parent I found it frustrating to not have cafeteria service on days that I was out of town on work. My child detested going to that school and it was a struggle comforting and getting them in day in and day out. My request is that HRCE re consider the boundary configuration to include the areas that were in the intial plan.

This needs to be changed for sure.

I am dissapointed about the final plan

This is something we have never expected. We are living in ternan gate and excluding our kids from new school is not at all wise decision. Our kids needs to change 4 to 5 school.

We want preprimry bck in bedford south and want to be a part of new braod street schools

Our kids will be attending 4 different schools(Bedford south, Rocky Lake elementary, Rocky Lake Junior high, CPA high school) which are far rather than one school(Broad Street) that is close by. Rocky lake elementary and Rocky lake junior high were far for us and due to huge traffic kids were late to school. Broad street school boundary is very small compared to the Basinview FOS. The Rocky Lake elementary school just for Grade 6 doesn't make any sense at all.
