I was not able to attend this meeting because of work. However I do not support this place being built and a small community that likes to stand together.

I already signed but wanted to say it would be a nice gesture to go to councilman Jerry Reynolds Facebook page and you can endorse him and tell people what they should vote for him and what he did for the residence of Britney Chase. Had it not been for him this could have possibly happened.

For fear of lowering property values, increasing homeowners insurance and increased crime, as a resident of Brittany Chase, I strongly dissaprove of the development of low income housing near the neighborhood.

I'm not in favor of low income housing in our neighborhood. We have all seen the problems this type of housing has brought to other neighborhoods in Lafayette.

This city already has enough low income government housing, crime rate is at an all time high, quit catering to these people and start getting them out of here! Bringing in the people from Chicago, honoring their section 8 vouchers, ridiculous, the south side used to be a decent place to live, until all the undesirables started moving in and taking over, this will only make it worse!

This is an absolute awful idea!!!! I moved and built this house with the reassurance that this neighborhood was safe and quiet to raise my family. I don't want to have to worry about some Junkie or whomever breaking into my home to get their next fix and having my child exposed to violence and drug activity. We also need to put in mind the preschool that is next to where they are deciding to build this. Those children also can be exposed to this negativity. I don't want to have in the back of my mind that my son may be hit by a stray bullet from a drive-by while he's playing in the backyard or God forbid someone else's child at that daycare or in my neighborhood. Why not use that area and build something positive like a park for families to enjoy or restaurants or even a police station. NO to low income housing!!!!!

We have enough low income housing. Unfortunately, low income housing means more crime in the area.

That's all we need is the better side of lafayette to become trash like the rest of the town. Lafayette has gone down hill year after year ... just look at claystone and Cambridge... trashy places nothing but welfare and crime... gonna build a police station in a real nice neighborhood like claystone??? Ya real classy.... terrible idea... this town is crowded as it is and ever since that schook closedin chicago the amount of crime has shot up dramatically... if u wanna build that garbage so people's kids cant play outside anymore then if ur a so called big shot voting on this then u move ur family in there and see how you like it... south side is the only decent side of town we have left and if u havnt read lafayette is already on top 10 worst places to live in indiana sounds like u want the cops more busy, jails more crowded, schools over crowded, parents worried, and move lafayette to the top 5.... great idea guys bravo....

Low income housing has only brought crime to a rise and made it a horrible place to live! When i was a child I could play outside with no worries now I cant ever let my childrwn out of my sight!!! I am a strong beleiver that subsidized housing was a big cause in this issue among other things.

Don't need no more low income anything being built to mess with the order of society anymore. Look at the many low income apartments built that still need police coverage to maintain lawful behavior. No more!

We are moving out of the area where Marsh Supermarket has left on Teal Rd because of the increased criminal activity in the area and are now purchasing a home in Brittany Chase because it is set apart from these other areas. Look at how many homes are now for sale just south of Romney Meadows these days. The same thing is bound to happen in this neighborhood if anything like that apartment complex goes up near here, and I would hate to see that happen. I'd like to keep things just the way they are in the neighborhood right now, thank you very much! Therefore, I am in total disagreement with any rezoning of this area in question.

I am signing this petition because as it stands I pay a lot of money to live away from low income areas yet my children go to school with children from those areas and are constantly harrassed by the children from the area (claystone to be exact) if I wanted to have to deal with such negativity and lack of desire for a healthy and normal life I would have just moved there. Yes it may seem like you're helping one group of people but at the same time you're sacrificing others well being to do so Please don't build this neighborhood here there are more than enough low income housing in Lafayette.

Too many have built homes in this area already and it will just lower their value. That would be so unfair to young families just starting out, they would never be able to sell there homes equal to value they paid for them. Many of these are first time home owners and it will mess them up for years to come. Please Lafayette has changed for worse please don't punish these people who have already built here!
