Hands down Mr Freedman was the best teacher I've ever had! He loves teaching at LACSHA and what he brings to the classroom is invaluable.

Why on Earth would anyone want to repeatedly try to remove perhaps the most beloved and talented teacher the school has ever been fortunate enough to have is beyond comprehension! Do not push Jerry Freedman out!

Mr. Freedman~ influenced my life 43 years ago, that changed the course of my life. He believed in me when everyone wrote me off. He mentored me, gave me advise that I follow to this day! In life most people do not have that one favorite teacher that teaches you, directs you so the student understands. The one teacher that goes that extra mile. He not only taught me history, but he taught me to love it too! I am a history buff.
Mr. Freedman is loved by all from Los Angeles to New York.
Please keep this very unique educator at LACHSA. He opened the school over 30 years ago. Flushing High School students lost the biggest asset the oldest school in NYC had. Mr. Freedman was that one gem everyone knew, and everyone that did know him loved him. Please keep this living legend teaching.

To have been a child where bullying and poverty almost led to my seeking a GED instead of a diploma because staying in high school seemed like an impossible feat and find LACHSA and realize there was a place for expression and education and friendship and respect..... that was my experience. Jerry Freedman fostered that environment, embodied it with his heart, put each of us first and said we were capable even when we'd had a lifetime of hearing we weren't. I can't think of any other student that wasn't empowered by his efforts.
When you find a good teacher that wants to continue to teach when career-wise they no longer have to - that is a kindred soul. That is the kind of teacher every child deserves.

Mr. Freedman is beloved by current students, alumni, and fellow teachers. He has been teaching for over 30 years (longer than any other educator at LACHSA) and has students all of the world that count him as their most influential educator.
Please don't dismiss a teacher who loves to teach - and who is adored by his students. Think of the best interest of the students - and the school!
Mr. Freedman currently teaches two art history classes, and has previously taught government, music appreciation, and AP classes - among others. Time after time, he has made personal and monetary sacrifices in order to remain teaching at LACHSA.
I understand that Mr. Freedman's contract with the union is based on county employee seniority when there are layoffs. However, in the past he has been able to return to LACHSA despite that fact. I am asking for the same consideration to be made this time - I know we can make that happen.
Mr. Freedman's role in LACHSA's history - and future - is of the utmost importance to me. I ask that Mr. Freedman be able to continue his legacy of providing quality education - and sharing his passion for learning and art - to enrich and inspire today's youth at LACHSA. I promise you our world will be better for it.

No one keeps alumni together like Mr. F. There's a good reason for that. He's a beloved teacher and deserves to continue making a difference in students' lives.

Mr. Freedman was more than just a teacher. He treated all students, whether they were in his class or not, with respect and appreciation. He sought out unique ways of teaching which truly had an impact that benefitted his students. I can't imagine LACHSA without him, and I wouldn't want anyone else to either.

LACHSA dropped Vicky Silva, a co-founder of the Theatre Department, " to save money". Now they're using the same bogus excuse to drop Jerry Freedman, the most-loved teacher in the school by every student ever there. LACHSA has been systematically destroyed by the administration for years. Dropping Freedman finishes the job.

Please stop trying to cut corners and save money at the expense of our kids. They are worth more than that. California is the seventh largest economy in the WORLD!!! Let's reflect that in our schools. Mr. Freedman is a once in a lifetime teacher. He is the kind of teacher you remember forever.

Rarely do I sit in a classroom amazed at how enthusiastic my teacher is. Mr. Freedman is one of those teachers. Mr. Freedman is extremely passionate about the subjects that he teaches, but more importantly, he is passionate about teaching and sharing his enthusiasm with the students at LACHSA. Mr. Freedman is the last teacher that should be asked to leave.

It would be an absolute travesty if Mr. Freedman was not a teacher at LACHSA. My daughter has had a passion for history, studying hard and giving thought to ideas and issues all ignited by Mr. Freedman. Not to mention the support and guidance he has shown to so many of his students. Keep Freedman at LACHSA!!!!!!!!

Mr. Freedman is an amazing teacher. My time at LACHSA was enriched by his instruction, his spirit, and his support. Keep Jerry doing what he does best as long as he is willing to share of his gifts! It just makes sense.
