Most people in Australia are aware that on July 29th 2009 popular 2DAYFM radio personalities Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O had a lie detector segment on their show. The segment involved a 14 year old girl being strapped to a lie detector while her mum, Kyle and Jackie O asked her questions about her sex life and drugs. The 14 year old girl admitted live on air that she had been raped when she was 12. Kyle and Jackie O are now being blamed for not stopping the interview once they saw that it was becoming inappropriate for a minor, that is someone under the age of 18 years by Australian law. Their popular top rating breakfast radio show has now been suspended until further notice as of August 2nd 2009 until Austereo and 2DAYFM review their media protocols. I believe that Kyle and Jackie O aren't at fault because the mother of the 14 year old girl shouldn't have brought her daughter into 2DAYFM in the first place. I believe that too much blame is being put on Kyle and Jackie O and not enough on the mother of the child. I want Austereo to rethink their decision to suspend Kyle and Jackie O because they are valued within the Australian media industry. Please sign this petition if you agree with me!
