I can honestly say that Mrs. Gauntner was one of the best teachers I had while attending Hudson High. She knew how much I struggled in Chemistry, and took me under her wing not only to help me get through it, but to help me succeed. I stayed close with her throughout my four years, as my locker was right across from her room. It pains me to see that her job is in jeopardy and I truly hope that Hudson High recognizes her contributions to the program as well as the impact she has on every student she teaches.

She is one of the best teachers at Hudson for not only teaching students so that they actually learn but also motivating students. There are so many teachers in that school who could care less about their students. There are very few people who are such a perfect example of what we should all strive to be like. The administration should be ashamed of themselves for doing this to someone that so many students look up to. What she did was not wrong, that is how she teaches and it clearly works.

Gauntner was one of my favorite teachers in high school. Of all of the classes I had hers in chemistry and geology were the ones that I retained the most from. I could never see her harming another student even though she is a dojo instructor. I know she can inspire many more teenagers when she is brought back.

Gauntner has never had the intentions of choking out a student let alone harm a student. There's no argument, Chunyo is wrong

I learned more in Mrs. Gauntner's class than I did anywhere else.

Mrs. Gauntner is one of the only teachers at HHS who actually provides a safe learning environment for their students. Ironically enough, I switched to her chemistry class after I felt physically threatened by one of the male science teachers, which the school administrators did absolutely nothing about. This is so disheartening, I hope that she is reinstated, everyone involved in her removal should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.

She's the only teacher who inspired kids to be themselves! She's a awesome teacher who actually taught material to the students instead like all the others who don't really teach......bring her back, she's the reason kids come to school and actually WANT to learn

She is a great teacher She has taught my daughter so much. My daughter used to have so much trouble with science but ever since she had Mrs. Gauntner she has learned so much. Me as a parent would understand how the mother of the child that got handled that felt but I know that she would never do anything to hurt him she is great teacher/person I want her back please don't let her go my understanding is that she has been working at the school for many years now and she has never caused any problems and now just because of a little kid that exaggerated she does not deserve to get fired please bring her back!!

It's depressing to see one of the very few teachers at Hudson High School who actually inspired kids to be themselves, supported creative thinking, and treated students as equals being disrespected like this. :(

I have served 35 years as a high school counselor and also like Heidi run a dojo here in Pittsburgh. I have observed her for years teaching adults, little kids and individuals with disabilities and know her to be a model teacher. She is kind and compassionate and I have never seen her as anything but exceptionally careful to never harm anyone even in the dojo environment. It is not in her character to ever harm or behave inappropriately towards anyone she is charged with serving.
