She is a great teacher. Patient. Knowledgeable. A real inspiration for young women.

Mrs. Gauntner was instrumental to my development as a scientist, but moreover accelerated my development as a person. Mrs. Gauntner caringly helped me build the discipline I so clearly lacked in 10th grade chemistry class. If it were not for her class, my life would without a doubt be very different than it is today. She is exceptionally open about the difficulties she faced while in school, and in doing so, she is an inspiration and guiding light to those facing similar adversity. Needless to say, Mrs. Gauntner is the best chemistry teacher around. Hudson City School District has lost a gem.

I didn't have this wonderful teacher in class but went to her a few times because my chemistry teacher did not always help me with my questions. This is ridiculous and so sad.

She showed me a whole different outlook on chemistry and gave great insight on what it takes to do well in the classroom. One of the best teachers I had in hs.

Let's see...a teacher who is a martial arts instructor with her own Dojo; multiple trophies for winning matches; brags about how she can kick the a$$ of the toughest kid in the school. Sounds like a real peach. Boy I hope some day she can teach my kids - NOT!

Gautner is an enthusiastic teacher who takes her job seriously and prepares students for their futures in and out of the classroom. This suspension needs to be reviewed.

This minuscule act should not tarnish this lovely woman's career. As a student of hers I saw the passion she had towards teaching. Something that many teachers at HHS lack. It would be a mistake to let a teacher of her character go.

Such a good teacher. I didn't even have her as a teacher but my chemistry teacher was bad so most of my class would go to her room when we had questions. So willing to help everyone

As an alumni I still can't believe a student would be immature enough to actually "sue" her. She was one of the only teachers who pushed me to do my best and when I was struggling she sacrificed HER time to make sure I understood the material.
