Mrs. Gauntner is a rare-breed of educator who not only incorporates fun into learning, but really does push for academic greatness in the classroom. Losing her to something as petty as someone taking the joke too seriously is something that should not be continued. Both me and my sister had Mrs. Gauntner, and she has directly made an impact on my outlook of how much fun science is. Bring her back.

She is a wonderful teacher and mentor. I would not have been the person I am today without her. I started taking martial arts with her when I was seven and never observed anything approaching aggressive or violent behavior. She has always taught that martial arts are the wellspring of peace, a provenance of respect and compassion for others. Divesting her of her career is excessive and will rob future students of phenomenal mentorship and education.

Both my boys have had the pleasure of being taught by Mrs. Gauntner. She is one of those rare teachers who truly loves what she does and is loved by those she teaches. Her no nonsense attitude and ability to challenge the kids to do better is what keeps her a cut above the rest. What a sad day for Hudson High School !!! Bring her back!!!

Mrs. Gauntner is an absolutely incredible teacher and a tremendous asset to Hudson High School. Beyond being an incredible instructor who makes the extra effort to provide intuitive explanations of difficult topics, she is among the most caring human beings I know. Countless times she has worked with students individually, helping them get up when they're down and shoot even higher when they succeed. I think it speaks volumes to see not only the quantity of signatures here, but to see that signatures come from some long removed alumni from a wide swath of backgrounds, all of whom no doubt remember her infectious smile and optimistic perspective as if they were in her class yesterday.

Mrs. Gauntner is by far one of the best teachers in the Hudson City school district. She would take time out of whatever she was doing to help you until you understood whatever it was you were doing and she wouldn't stop until you understood the material. Shes really cares about her students and was great at helping each student individually. She showed me a few of her karate moves but would never have the intention of actually hurting me or any student for that matter. She's one of the nicest ladies I've ever had the pleasure of learning from.

The fact that she is suspended is absurd. Everyone knew Gauntner was trained in martial arts, as she will explain to students in class, and that she has natural instincts. I'm not informed of the full details behind the incidence but from all of the information I've gathered it sounds like she had 0 cruel intentions.

Mrs. Gauntner is probably top 10 if not top 5 of your best teachers at the high school. She's passionate about what she teaches and goes above and beyond to do her best as a teacher, and as a friend to the students.
