greatest teacher

She knows the rules, yet she didn't know the student. It was done in a classroom she wasn't even teaching in, and on top of that, she had the great idea of letting the student know she only has a few years left of teaching. This was AFTER she put her hands on him, and she attempted to call the students bluff of suing her(or the school?) She brought this on herself, and it is insane that some people blame a student for being angry that some lady he doesn't know tried to intimidate him in a class she had no business being in.

Leave it to Hudson to punish one of their best teachers, but turn a blind eye towards the ones who really should be fired.

Hi. I'm trying to wrap my head around this petition. So no one is denying she put her hands on a student (and the reason was not for self defense) and the reason she should be reinstated is because she is a good teacher? The number one reason our children are in school is to feel safe. A teacher putting their hands on a student in any way is not okay. And then the lash back of attacking the student? Someone said "This is why people feel like Hudson is obnoxious" (losely paraphrasing..) The attack on the student is the EPITOME of why people feel the way they do about Hudson. The petition is more than allowed (hense, why it's up..) but until someone could tell me it'd never happen again, she doesn't belong back. NOT TO MENTION-- if all the rumors are true-- if teacher is on leave--- obviously someone is investigating-- why not allow them to do their jobs? I'm confused on what's being supported? Her right to put her hands on a mouthy student? Never going to sign that, I'm sorry. Student opinion of how great a teacher is, doesn't negate them putting their hands on someone, joking or not.

Mrs. Gauntner is the only reason I'm not failing chemistry. She's the kind of person who will sit down and help you if you're having trouble with something. I really hope she stays.

Gauntner is one of the best teachers I've ever had, not only in high school but college as well. She knows how to engage ALL her students and she genuinely cares about each and every one. Her endearing personality is what make her one of the best... It would be a true loss to Hudson to not bring her back.

She was an amazing and very enthusiastic teacher. She inspired me to pursue a career in the sciences that I otherwise wouldn't have thought of doing without having her as a teacher.

Firing her is excessive. So is the lawsuit.

My daughter's favorite teacher at HHS, Mrs. Gaunter wrote her Honor Society introduction and wrote college letters of recommendation. I have never heard anything but good things about her teaching and more importantly her character.

Thee best teacher I've ever had. Moving to a new school was so hard and she wasn't just my favorite academic teacher, but she taught me a lot about life. Biggest mistake if they let her go
