Another CBC screw-up. What a sad over-reaction (post-Ghomeshi syndrome? Evan Solomon was a rare commodity on CBC, erudite and clearly very knowledgeable about his subject. Please return him to us.

Does the punishment really fit???? Great broadcaster. He's the person who got me interested in the program. It won't be the same without him.

There have been a number of scandals ie. Lang, Mansbridge, Murphy that were dealt with differently. Perhaps the problem lies with CBC leadership as much as the individuals concerned. The timing of this decision leads one to question whether the motivation was political as Evan was often the voice for Canadian voters asking the tough questions and demanding answers from all the politicians.

His firing looks very much like a political firing, as Solomon has been trying very hard to get straight answers from certain party members, and these certain party members have been made to look incompetent for the whole country to see. It is a political firing by the big boys, the Libs and Cons!!

Evan Solomon is CBC's best interviewer. He didn't accept non-answers and made watching politics a joy.

Evan is the only reason for watching Power and Politics. Now I have to watch the CTV guy.

If found that it was a conflict let him pay the commission back and resume his job, Just like the Canadian Senators. At least he was trying to keep the Canadian public informed. And for this to happen the same day Bill C-51 was passed with absolutely no media coverage has not been lost on anyone.

Evan's firing was a complete over-reaction by CBC. He was dismissed as quickly and thoroughly as was Jian Ghomeshi and the two are hardly comparable. If Evan did was he is alleged to have done, a fine and/or some kind of suspension for a period of time would be much more appropriate. Equal treatment is NOT fair treatment.

CBC needs a persistent, non-partisan journalist to run Power and Politics. I agree, bring back Evan.

Evan is the only what that brings out what is going on with government. I feel that brokering art had nothing to do with his work.

Firing people on a whim at the first sign of public upset does not demonstrate having integrity standards. Hope Shad can get up to speed by the fall to cover the federal elections!

Witch hunt. His business activities had nothing to do with politics, this is simply unfair unless there is more to this story than has been disclosed. Bring him back or make clear the logic.
