I feel the firing of Evan Soloman was premature and unnecessary. There is too much of a grey area in this case and his hasty removal only adds to the thinning ranks of CBC's talented broadcasters.

If the CBC can't explain why they decided to part ways with Evan, I won't be watching their network any longer for political analysis.

I believe the firing was to shut up Evan S., before the federal election. The CBC head, appointed by Harper, was looking for an excuse. I don't believe selling art could be a plausible conflict. Something stinks with the head of CBC. I will change to whatever network might hire Evan in the future.

At the very least, he should have been suspended rather than fired while things are being investigated. Since it appears the CBC has known about his dealings for a long time, it seems he's just being made an example of unnecessarily.

The Board of CBC is appointed by the Government of Canada with a majority linked to the CPC. Read between the lines....

Yes, the firing was a knee jerk response. A tad on the harsh side. This in way comes close to the Ghomeshi scandal.

Seriously CBC?!!! This is overkill. I'd say you owe HIM an apology.

The firing of Evan Soloman makes no sense. He is the reason I watch CBC Power and Politics. Do the right thing CBC and reinstate Evan. I am deeply appauled that the CBC is allowing itself to be bullied from outsiders. I strongly believe that his firing was political and this causes me great concern as to the integrity of CBC.

A complete over-reaction on CBC's part. To take away YOUR BEST journalist for such a small and unclear reason is ludicrous. Give this great talent his job back for the sake of Canadian journalistic standards, of which he upheld honorably.

Evan is your brightest star. Show some guts and admit you acted too fast in his firing. Allow him time to divest his interest in art dealings. This is an outrageous punishment that does NOT fit his actions!!

Evan Solomon is a much needed strong & honest iconic host on CBC - already greatly weakened & damaged by Tory slashing.

I loved his interviews. His art business is not an issue for me. CBC overreacted. They can't make up for past errors by overreacting on this one. Treat all employees fairly.
