We need Evan for his non-partisan views and arguments. Please bring him back.

this "transgression" shouldn't lead to an end of his career!

I watch Power and Politics every day that I am home and sometimes record it. I find Evan to be an honest interviewer and impartial interviewer. Good luck Evan with this situation and hope to see you on CBC again soon.

Fired him too fast, an investigation was better needed.

My trust in Evan Solomon as a host and journalist remains intact. P&P has lost one loyal viewer.

forgive and forget. Others at the Corp have done worse.

A mistake in judgment shouldn't cost this respected journalist his livelihood. A suspension yes, but termination no. He is our voice, keeps governments accountable. Please give him a chance

Apparently the CBC was made aware of Evan's selling art to people and saw no problem with it. Now it's being considered a breach of ethics because he had deals with people he met through his work at the CBC. This is a dangerous precedent: Does that mean you can't sell anything you meet to people you come to know through work? I'm inclined to think this is a horrendous case of "constructive discipline". Given the recent problems at the CBC, funding cuts, and right leaning agenda, it seems Solomon became dispensable and this is a lame excuse to show him the door. His union will be very busy fighting his termination. . .

If Evan is in a conflict of interest then Rex Murphy is even more so. Using his bully pulpit to schill for Big Oil is OK with CBC?

Has Solomon broken any laws like we see in the Senate? The reason for letting him go don't seem reasonable.

I do not understand why this would be a reason to fire an employee. Could you just ask him not to have a business while working at CBC. He wasn't stealing the art or laundring art theft money was he? Really makes no sense. I watched power and politics everyday and enjoy Evan's enthusiam for Canadian polictics. I also learned alot about how parliment works.

How does an art broker deal with Mark Carney have anything to do with Evan's job as a CBC journalist? Sounds like a bit of conspiring. How is Peter and Amanda's actions differ?

Evan was one of the best (and my favourite) journalists/interviewer on CBC. Who's next ... Rex Murphy?
