Evan is loved and needed. He disclosed he was selling art earlier this year. CBC did not ask for further details.

If those working at CBC are allowed to make money on their own time then Evan Solomon should be reinstated.

people make mistakes? He apologized. Bring him back. We cannot afford to lose a journalist of his caliber. Especially this close to the election. We need his incisive grasp of issues and motivations. Hey maybe that is why he was fired. God we need to look ourselves in the mirror. Canada I barely know thee

This type of action bolsters my belief we are a manipulated culture. Evan Solomon is a good man with an honest outlook. The world powers are threatened by this. Why?

Cbc was wrong to fire Evan. I am quickly losing confidence in the leadership of this institution where my father was a broadcaster for several decades.

Evan should have been afforded the same treatment by CBC management as was afforded to Amanda Lang, Peter Mansbridge and Rex Murphy.

CBC board, dominated by Conservatives appointees "Stop the witch hunting" against journalist that ask the difficult questions.....We deserve answers from those that hold the power in our Canada. Silencing the journalist works the same as the assassinations from dictatorships..... which is what Canada is becoming.....

Somehow, in CBC logic, Solomon's breach is equivalent to Jian Ghomeshi's assaults...wait no...they did more of a review of Ghomeshi and gave him the benefit of the doubt in attacking women. Is what Evan did wrong? Of course, he breached the ethical code, a summary firing though is a punishment that does not fit the crime. Give him a chance to atone for what he did!

It's a great team on P&P but Evan's dismisal seems too quick and heavy handed. A reprimand, cease of the activities and apology would do. We need his incisive interviews more so now as an election looms.

I watched Power & Politics regularly and one of the reasons was because Evan Solomon was the host. I hope that he can be returned to CBC and PnP. I am very sad to hear he was let go.

Dismissal is capital punishment in a labour relations environment. His actions, although suspect, were not worthy of capital punishment. If he goes to arbitration he will probably be reinstated with a suspension. I believe him when he says he didn't believe he was doing anything wrong. He was always objective in his questioning of guests---unlike Ms. Barton. If she becomes the new host I'm changing channels.

How is this different from the Amanda Lang case? CBC is not on the side of the angels here. Bring him back before you lose many life long CBC supporters and friends.

C'mon CBC - you're my channel, this is 'my' program and Evan is a big part of the very best political reporting anywhere on television. Get this team back again with Evan at the helm. I'm an artist…and dang….who cares?! Don't silence one of the best questioning journalists on TV. Ditch Rex…he's old news now.
