Please get Uber or Lyft in Birmingham!!! I feel this will dramatically cut down on drinking and driving.

My thoughts are, if the cabs are so concerned with uber... All they have to do is keep a clean car, expand their fleet, and be polite. I like uber because I can get a ride in a matter of seconds and usually greeted nicely and travel in a car that doesn't smell or is messy. Cabs need to adapt to their evolving market just like all other companies in the world. "Cause that's how it's always been" isn't a good enough excuse now a days especially with technology.

Trying to get a cab in Birmingham is such a nightmare. The wait is often way too long, and I've called cabs that never even show up! We NEED Uber.

Birmingham needs to get with the times or continue to fall behind other southern cities. I have used Uber many times in other cities and its great. On the other hand, I can count several occasions that I was rip offed or felt uncomfortable or unsafe with cabs.

Was in Birmingham a few months ago and COULD not get a cab to even give me an estimated time of arrival on a not so busy night. I am a single woman and had to sit in my car at night in a dangerous area and wait for my almost 70 year old mother to come pick me up! Pathetic. I also refuse to drink and drive. Get on it, Birmingham. This is 2015!
