Helensburgh has a long standing history with ships and the Waverley plays a big part in keeping Helensburgh a tourist attraction, it is a important asset to business in the town.

Thank you so much to Carolann for starting this petition and to all who have signed, commented and shared. It is great to see the community getting involved. If as many of you as possible could please come along to Helensburgh Pier on Saturday 20th April at 11:00am for the Helensburgh Seafront Development Project's 'WAVE FOR THE WAVERLEY' event. We'll be taking an aerial photograph to show the strength of support and we are hoping for a large crowd to send the message that we want PS Waverley back at Helensburgh Pier as soon as possible. Please visit HSDP's Facebook page and share this event with all your friends/contacts. Thank you. Gerard Lindsay HSDP Vice-Chair

Had trips on Waverley as a kid and would hate if it never returned to Helensburgh.

We've already lost Craigendoran Pier, please don't leave us without somewhere on this side of the Clyde to board the Waverley. It's very needed as well as being part of the history of sailing Doon The Watter

The pier is an essential part of the town of Helensburgh. We must work at it's repair and be prepared to invest our own cash as well as press public authorities to do the same. Then we must work at increasing the use of the pier so that it generates income. PS Waverley (rightly) pays no pier dues but does bring business and huge pleasure to the town.

We have already let one amazing pier at Craigendoran disintegrate !! Surely we MUST save Helensburgh Pier and regain the Waverley mooring. It has been a part of Helensburghs history for so long.

Vitally important for the town of Helensburgh to keep the pier in good repair. Too many councils ignoring the heritage of the places they represent.
