Generations of Helensburgh families have been using and enjoying the pier. It always brings joy to see such an iconic vessel arriving at our pier. How can we hold our heads high if a bunch of disrespected officials decide to let it rot? Shame on you!

If it was fixed no matter the Waverley it would hopefully bring in more tourist boats as well

Helensburgh let down again by Argyll and Bute- they couldn’t run a bath.

It would be a shame for a prominent seaside town to lose its pier!

This petition has my full backing. The councillors should hang their heads in shame for their complete lack of support.

Historic maritime history should be preserved and encouraged

Helensburgh is the traditional home where North British and then LNER started sailing from the north bank of the Clyde before Craigendoran Pier was built, so it is important historically that Helensburgh is maintained as a pier.

Helensburgh needs the pier AND needs the Waverley.

If Waverley cannot call at Helensburgh the town will loose a lot of revenue which would also benefit Argyll & Bute Council, sensible to get it fixed.

It’s a legend that shouldn’t fade out

The pier and The Waverley are an integral part of the town and have been for as long as I remember. The town just wouldn’t be quite the same without either.
