Bring the Waverley back to Helensburgh - Restore our pier!

Remembering the passing of Carolann Cameron (RIP) Who supported this petition, and loyally loved her home town. Helensburgh deserves this obviously amazing tourist attraction running again. Argyll and Bute (including other departments involved) should make her wishes, including the welcoming people of the town, come to fruition?

Repairing and upgrading the pier is an absolute must so that the iconic paddle steamer Waverley can dock in Helensburgh. This will attract many more visitors and encourage more small businesses to the town and reinstate an important part of Helensburgh's Heritage alongside Henry Bell.

Waverley is a popular tourist attraction, which can only benefit the entire community. Money wasted elsewhere should be better redirected towards returning a functioning pier to attract the return of not only Waverley but also other vessels, which would support local shops, trades and the community!

So important for Helensburgh to have the pier functioning again

Repairing and bringing the pier back to full working order would be money well spent.

I don't live in helensburgh anymore but my family does and we'd all like to see the Waverly again

It's time it returns to Helensburgh for tourism

This must be done It is listed and with the new pool.. It would be a disgrace. The Waverley or other vessels could then use it. You cannot allow a listed pier to crumble further. Look at Gourock pier...that is not so costly and it is not the eyesore the Helensburgh pier is.

Helensburgh without a pier is not Helensburgh

Helensburgh deserves her pier, the Oier is a big part of our town and it’s history, it should not be allowed to crumble. Frankly, Helensburgh deserves better, thank you Argyll and Bute - not!

Helensburgh is unimaginably without the Waverley. An important History that must not be lost.

Love the Waverley! It is a huge tourist attraction and an asset to our lovely town

No Clyde town should be without a serviceable pier. Hoping both pier and Waverley will be ready for passengers in 2020.

It's a unique asset that should be restored to bring people and money to the town. Once gone never get back!

The pier is a scarce resource that can support many water sports and tourism.

This should have been done years ago . Before square and park I remember cruise ships sending there boats over from Greenock loaded with visitors .

Sort this pier out properly might even attract cruise ships away from Greenock as well as Waverley
