I think the children should be home with their mothers family and, their mother when she comes home. Im sure her husband can surely do this. To respect his late wife who tragically lost her life. You mr husband can deal with what happens to the children after their mothers funeral. End of day you still the father. BUT THEY HAVE NO MOTHER. Please send them to NZ.

I am one of the boys' teachers and they are very quiet and shy around people they don't know. They need to be surrounded by their extended family so they have familiar people to help them cope with the changes in their immediate future. Surely, in accordance with charter of rights for children, the relevant authorities should be consulting with the children as to their wishes. If there is no legal precedent for allowing children to transfer to another country to be with extended family then this should be changed according to the extenuating circumstances and weighted by the trauma these children have endured. It has got less to do with what the father wants and more about the children. What do they deserve? What are their choices? Do the right thing by these beautiful, innocent, powerless children. Their father took away all the boys choices and sense of safety when he took their mother's life.

When was it ever ok for one to determine how long another should live? When was it ever ok for one to end a life of another?
He should have no say in where the children should be placed! He is an adult, he had options and choices, yet he decided to end the life of his partner, the life of his children's mother!! No matter what storms they were going through, it is never ok do one to end the life of another. She was a daughter, a sister, a friend and especially a mother!
He will be put away, behind bars, what use does he have with the children being behind bars? How is he going to raise them? He can't be the father figure every child needs, he could have BUT he chose not too.
The children are better off in the care of family away from their father, away from all this killing/murder otherwise if not, it can become like a disease that spreads within them and it cannot be stopped.
Why risk it? Let the children go and grieve for the loss of their mother!!
