Mrs. Danese also participates in school wide activities during off hours when we would not be provided a security presence. She has shifted from one area of responsibility to another over the years to remain a part of the Finegan Family serving our special population with a wide variety of needs.

Mrs. Danese is a security officer and more. She makes a point to know every child and many times, their families. This personalized connection with the student body is an important part of non-threatening security, which is necessary since the school is adjacent to a military base and most of the students live on base. I feel as though the security personnel position should be given a high priority due to this fact. Yes, Mrs. Danese has worn many hats while in her tenure at Finegan, she has an innate ability to have her finger on the pulse of the school at all times. I believe that her many skills would be put to better use at Finegan than at a middle school where she knows very few students and families.

Mrs Danese was more than a security guard. When the decision came to cut her position at Finnegan you did more than delete a job position. I have known her 3 years and worked beside her for 2 of them
She went above and beyond any security duties outlined in a "security guard" position. She was a mentor, a substitute,a front desk clerk, an assistant to all the teachers, helped in the clinic, filled in when ever and where ever she was needed, and alot of children confided in her and found comfort in her daily hugs when they are having a bad day. This decision to cut her position has been very detrimental to the whole Finnegan family!

MS Denise does so many jobs at Finnigan that need doing and that support education at that school. What she provides is far and above what she is paid to do because she loves her school and her kids. Finnigans children need her, whe, a parent is deployed she fills a stability need for them, she is there before and after school, during lunch, in the hall, every year. That means a lot to kids that have to deal with change and uncertainties. Please return her to the kids.

Every school should have security personnel. As a mother of a child who attends this school-i do not like this idea and will be considering finding a new & safer school for my child next year.

Mrs. Danese is a part of Finegan Elem. She is there before sunrise...checking the school....greeting students upon arrival. Keeping a watchful eye on students before school, during lunch, during dismissal and after school. When you say committed to her position...that is an understatement. My children loved going into the media center when she was there...always welcoming always watching. Please reconsider bringing her back....the safety of our students matter.

She has been a constant smiling face for our entire time at Finegan. For families with very little consistency in our lives, that means a great deal to us.

I have been a teacher at Finegan for 22 years. During that time, Josephine Danese has proven herself to be one of, if not THE, most important staff member! I arrive at school by 6:45 every morning and she was always already there. She has poured her heart and soul into the safety and well being of each and every student at Finegan Elementary School. If the best interest of all students is honestly what is the most important, then Josephine Danese should come back to Finegan.
