Being no longer a minor under the law..she did right. And, the bigger issue would be...why is there still a 20 year old in high school. Maybe the principal should be more concerned about that and not the legal aged student being helped by a caring teacher who was concerned about their physical well being. Dumbest thing I have read in a very long time. And, yes, I am a teacher and would have done the same thing! Better to ere on the side of Grace than not meet the needs of a human being in need.

I had the privilege of being one of Miss Mitt's students a few years back, and she not only has a heart of gold, but is insanely good at her job! Red Bank is losing an inspiration if they let Mitts go.

Jennifer Mitts is a blessing to the students and to the teaching community. Please let the local media know what is going on and tell them she deserves a commendation not a firing.
Please ask your parents to help organize a rally on the campus to ask for the resignation of both of the people who forces and intimated her into signing a resignation. Let the School Board and the PTA know that as supporters of local and national education we will not permit such injustices to go unpunished.

It doesn't make sense to fire a teacher who not only goes the extra mile, but one that the students feel comfortable coming to discuss their problems. Don't we need more teachers like this

This teacher is more than just a teacher! She is a true saint and lives her life as an example! What kind of example are we teaching her students? This school has lost something much more valuable than just a teacher. She is one of a kind, and they should be ashamed...very ashamed!

I am still shocked that Red Bank bullied Ms Mitts into resigning considering that she is not only an outstanding and award willing instructor, but also an ALUMNI of Red Bank High School! She went the extra mile and potentially saved a unaccompanied students LIFE and her reward is that she is pressured to resign?!

THAT PRINCIPAL IS AN IDIOT! OVER 2 MONTHS OF SCHOOL LEFT AND THE STUDENTS WILL HAVE INFERIOR TEACHING FROM SUBSTITUES! ONE CLASS HAS BEEN WATCHING MOVIES. O M G ! THE STUDENTS ARE BEGGING TO BRING HER BACK ! HAMILTON COUNTY SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION RULES THROUGH INTIMIDATION AND SCARE TACTICS. GOOD TEACHERS ARE SO DIFFICULT TO FIND AND KEEP AND THIS ONE IS BEING THROWN AWAY.
