I understand that rules and regulations are in place to help protect both student and teacher, and this particular teacher breached that by using her judgement to address the situation instead of following procedure. I understand the need to reprimand things that go against the rules, but I also believe in using a case by case method to rule what the punishment should be. Termination or resignation is not an appropriate response in this scenario with the facts that have been presented.

This woman showed more courage and conviction to protecting the lives of her students than I have seen in many people in my years. She should NOT have been fired for trying to do what is right and I am calling on the school district to rehire her
