If there is any common sense within this school WHATSOEVER, you'd bring this teacher back. If I were a parent in this school district I'd opt to home school before allowing my child to attend an institution where the majority of adults in charge are this STUPID. You just got rid of what was likely your ONLY asset. Great Work.

As a healthcare professional, I understand the need for compassion and concern for the wellbeing of others. If this woman is only guilty of trying to attain healthcare for someone in need when that person was unable to on their own - then I feel that she is unfairly persecuted. If her side is misrepresented as being in the right when she actually invited harm to herself or others than I support the ideals behind this petition if only to get a conversation started.

Shame on the administration. Liability for trying to ruin this teacher's career is what they should have been worried about.

The principal needs to resign for lack of compassion and idiocy.

Mr. Robertson, which kind of teacher would you prefer at your school -- one who actually cares about her students or one who sees teaching as just a job?

I find myself being ridiculed for the lengths I go to for my students. I stand with you.

I can't believe that doing the right thing is a liability.

I grew up with the idea that teachers were an extension of family - nowadays, you rarely find teachers that will care as much, or get involved, afraid of getting lawsuits - a few will have the courage and love to do what is right. Ms Mitts is a kind and brave soul. It's obvious her students love her. It does not seem here that the parents of this child are complaining, so why should the principal?

She obviously cares about her students well being, this is no reason to have a teacher fired, resign or whatever.

And if she hadn't done anything, she would have been called heartless and an embarrassment to the profession. By the same people who said she'd posed a liability to the district.

There is no way I can understand forcing the resignation of such a teacher. Why can't the administration admire, respect and reward such great teachers instead of causing their demise.... there are not that many good teachers like her left and there will be LESS if they are subjected to the pompus will of incompetent administrators.

What has this world come to when you can be punished for helping another person. What a shame!

This is just another example of how policies are put before our children. My hats off to this fine teacher, thank you for caring and making a difference.
