What an admirable woman and educator! Shame on the school district for not accepting her deeds as noble!

We need more teachers like this, not fewer!

Oh the irony! Teacher are often accused of not caring for their students but this one goes out of her way to show she cares and because of that, she's now out of a job. Tennessee just seems to keep moving backwards.

I thought Tenn. was one of those "good Christian" Red State. So much for honoring or even respecting a Good Samaritan. The school's treatment of her is shameful.

To fire someone because they did something good to help someone in need is UNACCEPTABLE.

I attended RHS. This is absolutely shameful and an embarrassment to our public education system. No teacher should be punished for genuinely caring about her students.

This is what teaching is actually about

What a horror. Instead of commending her, admins punish. Are they no better than this? Apparently not.

The termination of the principal should be outlined in this petition!

Reinstate this teacher with back pay and apologize for your poor decision!

No one should be punished for being a good Samaritan. The principal and human resources rep who strongarmed her into resigned sure should be though! Maybe Mitts could then take over in his place, sounds like this school needs more people like her and less hateful ones like him.

After watching the golden apple award video, I honestly don't see how you could not sign this. I hope she gets her job back.

Fired? She should be up for teacher of the year!

Start looking at who 'did the right thing' vs ANYTHING ELSE!!

This is ludicrous. If my child were sick I would want someone to take her to the hospital if I weren't able to. The alternative was she could have died and her child could have died. She should be honored for saving this girls life instead of being forced to resign.
