And once again lawyers step in to make this a 'liability' issue instead of a HUMAN issue. Ugh. Rehire Mitts and fire your lawyer.

It's hard to kind teachers able to inspire their students to care- and teachers who care equally as much about their students. Punishing this woman is wrong. Give her job back. She was doing the right thing and looking out for her students to the best of her ability. I wish I had a teacher who was as helpful, invested, and compassionate as Leslie Mitts.

This is a dispicable way to treat someone for acting with compassion toward another human being, especially one who was at that time in her care and under her responsibility. Give her her job back and let her continue to shape compassionate minds for the sake of everyone's future.

What happened to kindness and common sense? This teacher went above and beyond the call of duty and she is forced to resign as a result? She is clearly one of the good ones...she should receive a commendation, not a reprimand!

"No good deed goes unpunished." She showed compassion, concern, and charity toward a student - - - and what happens??? She is forced to resign for her good actions. The school should be ashamed of itself, especially for lying about their actions and reasons for their actions. And people wonder why we have so many cruddy teachers - - the good teachers are weeded out and become burned out from lack of appreciation for being good people.

God Bless her. This lady went the more than the extra mile and deserves a medal. She followed the teachings love thy neighbor as yourself. Her position should not have been put on the line for this act. Give her her position back and put procedures in place that covers this type of action.

She did the right thing. School administration maintain that she broke protocol, but, as a human being, she absolutely did the right thing and should not be punished for it. The administrators should be ashamed. At the end of the day, their teacher showed compassion and care for a sick student and went above and beyond paying for the healthcare the students desperately needed.
