Reward not reprimand!!!

It is such a shame to see that not only we fail to reward for acts of human kindness, but instead to punish for it. What are we teaching new generation? That it is ok to be ignorant towards pain or suffering others? What a shame!

I just signed this petition, but didn't finish mycomments. Mr Robetson, please read the classic Stanley Milgram Yale University "obedience" studies and take heed of what you're doing. The school system lacks in teaching values such as humanity, empathy, helping others in need and you are promoting this lack of real education. In my professional opinion your actions are unconscienable in firing this woman and for the weak, inhumane reasons you call "insubordination." Please, the insubordinate is not Miss Mitts. I cannot believe that you cannot stand by this woman, independent of the ridiculous, inhumane, obsolete "school policies" to support her humanity. Had she not done this, the young pregnant woman and her unborn child would die and you would have had BLOOD ON YOUR HANDS. Mr. Robertson, would you prefer that? Please reflect and introspect on what you're doing and stand by Miss Mitts and have the courage to be a man of integrity and a man of honor to support Miss Mitts. You are blinded by obedience and are not teaching humanity. This is your chance to demonstrate individual manhood, courage, and professionalism by teaching true education. This is your moment to support humanity, true education. Thank you, Dr. J. Blacher

As a teacher who was also told "Resign or Get Fired" for caring too much about my students, and then had the school LIE to anyone who asked about it, I fully support Ms. Mitts. Schools need to KEEP good, caring teachers, and fire the insane, idiotic administrators who insist on getting rid of them and lying to cover their own asses!

She should be given a commendation for her actions, not lose her job!

This is absurd. Mr. Robertson, what is wrong with you and your school system. These and this incidents are anomalies and happened at least twice to this teacher. Just be aware that you are firing this teacher for her HUMANITY, nothing else

The handling of this woman's good will is disgusting. This is why no one becomes teachers in this country anymore.

Unjust. She should not be punished for trying to help! Ridiculous. Taking children from school in your own vehicle is INTENDED to keep the children safe. The rule is being misinterpreted in this case.

If the facts here are true, this is outlandish. Teachers are underpaid and underappreciated, and now you're going to punish them for helping a young person in need? This is way over the line.

So this school says humanity and compassion, as well as doing the right thing has no place in the school system?

This is the type of teacher that we should be hiring. Those who look beyond what is required to take care of the whole welfare of the student.

What the hell is wrong with you people? Your brain as well as your soul has atrophied--It's a real shame that you call yourself an educator. And yeah, I DO realize that the "liability issue" is STRICTLY a blanketing CYA 'legality', but when you can't do what is right--like taking a really sick person to a hospital--then clearly, you are in the WRONG.
