This is ludicrous! We have few good teachers left in this country and they are doing their level best to push them out of the teaching profession.

Thank God for teachers with common sense and decency to a fellow human being.

Regardless of anything else, Ms Mitts made the right decision, I applaud her voice of reason and her actions. To Ms Mitts, I say well done! To the school board, I say "teach by example". Currently, your example illustrates everything that's wrong with today's education system.

It should be the responsibility of all citizens to do, not only the right but the charitable thing.

If my child was sick, I hope there would be some "insubordinate" around to break the rules and provide the help they need. When rules start endangering people's lives or causing harm in some way, it's time to change them.

This teacher should not fired or threatened with firing or forced to resign. That is just wrong. Lets all support her.

The school should just of had her sign a paper that stated they in no way were party to this and that she made a conscience decision to assist a person in need. The only way the woman could be sued anyhow is if she tried to help the woman personally, bodily, much like our poor EMS people or people with First Aid can be anyday of the week. Pretty sad that we as people have to waste precious seconds deciding if we should or shouldn't help someone in fear of being sued or going to jail.

Apparently no good deed goes unpunished at that school.

OK, so who SHOULD have taken the sick young lady to the doctor? She was obviously VERY sick. She was a legal adult. Is there a school social worker who could have dealt with the issue? If this is how Red Bank treats its teachers, perhaps it's best that Ms. Mitts go find a school that appreciates a teacher who is more than willing to go the extra mile. Oh, and the choice of having a "suspension"? Please, don't lie. It only makes you look like bigger idiots.

Please reinstate this teacher. THe point of teaching is to steward the next generation. The point of having humanity is caring for other human beings. This woman did the responsible thing, that surpases any liability concerns of the district. You are lucky you have a teacher that cares about her students.
