Sounds like she is a good kind caring person. Not to mention that she is a good teacher as well. The school board is losing a good teacher. She should not of lost her job because she did what she felt was the right thing to do. The student was 20 yrs old, he could of said no. If it had been the principal's child would he had not wanted her to do the same?

Reinstate her. Sounds like a power struggle to me. The teacher took care of the student. Give her back her job with a raise.
It's unfortunate that an educational system can not differentiate between what's right and wrong. Miss Mitts actions should be celebrated and promoted, not punished and penalized.

As an educator for 25 years, I am disgusted by Dr. Robertson's actions. Many times I have had situations in which I had to act to an emergency and take a student to the hospital. When something like this happens, you act instinctively and with compassion. One of my students would have died if I had not acted quickly. If you would like to let Dr. Robertson know how you feel, call him at 423-874-1900: press 1 for administration, and press 7 for his extension. I am happy I live in Massachusetts and have a union to protect me.

There are clearly dysfunctional processes, policies, and procedures in this system. The principal lacked ethical judgement and made a decision to fire Ms. Mitts on the grounds of liability, not ethics.
