I understand being a liability.. But this doesnt make any sense. Sounds like the Principal needs their head examined.. I wonder if he needs to be taken to see someone.. My guess is she would give him the ride.He needs to get a clue!

We know who should have resigned, and isn't the teacher.

Ridiculous. Should she have waited, and if they got worse she would have been sued by the school and parents. She does a good deed and this is how she gets repaid.

The world needs a lot more caring teachers like Miss Mitts. School Boards are not putting the students best interest first, only their cushy jobs.

There isn't enough kindness & compassion in this world, why are you punishing this teacher for exhibiting these traits?

This is outrageous. I appreciate she broke red tape but given the circumstances this incident should have been dealt with differently. Shame on the school.

She should be commended for her deed, not punished. What is wrong with society these days? Bring her back. Fire that principal.

Forcing resignation on a teacher because she's dedicated to helping her students? Do you know this is making you very unpopular right now?

The problem is that teachiong is NOT just a job, and deciding when to 'turn it off', can be difficult, especially when dealing with kids - and their health at that! If anything, she may have saved the school from being sued had something gone wrong. Remember, both students were dealing with 'breathing" issues.; it doesn't get much more serious than that. As well, there is an expectation that in the absence of the parent, a teacher assumes that role. Is this a warning to all teachers? Is this simply a power play? Did you have problems with the principal prior? AND WHERE IS YOUR UNION??? Go to the media - newspapers, get on Dr. Phil. He has a lot of sway, and has helped several teachers, who were unfairly treated, get their jobs back or back into the board. I hope this all works out. I wonder if the principal would have been this harsh and unfair with ALL - EVERY single member on his staff... eaching members...

Miss Mitts is without a doubt the best teacher Red Bank had. She was the only teacher to encourage her students and push them to achieve their fullest. She treated us not only as students, but as the adults that we were becoming. Red Bank is only going down hill and now has lost one of the few people who made it managable. Good job.
