Showing concern for human life should be rewarded. Not punished.

Let the principal think of his own kids in that situation and then decide.

When policy interferes with the well being of staff and students, it is time to change tthe policy. With two cases of gravely ill students one wonders why the school nurse didn't call an ambulance. Meanwhile, take this incident as an opportunity to realize the flaws in the policy and do the right thing. Reinstate Miss Mitts.

Hello , county officials. You all need to fire the entire school board. She did not do anything wrong. She can spend her money anywhere and anyway she chooses. She did a good deed. What in world is your school board thinking. Give her job back to her along with back pay. Immediately!!!!

Why wasn't she comfortable bringing the student to the office and asking for help?

How in the world can you tell a person not to CARE? Shame on whoever is making her life miserable for giving a damn!

This teacher is one in a million! It is not often in this madcap world that one human being will do an act of kindness for another and to punish such an act is downright unthinkable. I thought Tennessee was the bible belt? No bible in that principal's belt.... She should be reinstated and the principal fired

This is ridiculous. .....she did the right thing. As a parent of two kids I would be thrilled that she did this.

The teacher made the right choice. It doesn't make sense to fire her.

Loss of a good teacher is too harsh a result of a thoughtful mistake. She can be disciplines in another manner. It's 3 Strikes and out, not just two.

Thank you for what you did. More people should be caring like you. The bureaucrats would rather have sick or dead individuals to deal with.

it is a travesty that Mitts is being punished for doing what everyone of us, if capable, should be doing. I am so sorry to see our country get to the point of liability fear that human beings are prevented from being human beings.

A teacher should be able to do whatever she pleases with her own money. If a child is in need of medical attention and aren't getting it due to lack of income or it's parental negligence I admire her for stepping up and getting them the care needed.
