it is truly amazing how stupid some of these people who are supposed to make sensible decisions and they do something like this and they see nothing wrong with it.amazing how out of touch these administrators are.this teacher should be commended for her actions and instead is fired.d

She is a hero! Plain and simple. Even here in Canada many people wonder what is wrong the school system there? From a prison atmosphere to penalizing teachers for doing the right thing, what is going through the minds of the administration? Any compassion or empathy left? The principal needs to give his head a shake. His family must be really proud of his actions. Really, we are speechless..

This is extremely outrageous. What kind of values are they promoting? Selfishness, not my problem kind of thing?

We need to respect our teachers. This is a good woman who does not deserve this.

The principal and or the school board are heartless and just wrong!

Miss Mitts lost her job due to the fact she has a caring heart and did not choose to lose a student to an early death, both students in question had critical illnesses that could have been fatal if not treated.

It's a shame there's not more teacher like this in the world.

I am a teacher. I have looked after sick kids, bought lunches and helped with family emergencies. She should be praised for her humanitarian acts, not disciplined.

Where is the humanity in terminating Miss Mitts? Do we not want our children to grow up to be caring adults? Bring back Miss Mitts. Apologise & remunerate her for this;scared of being sued, wrong-headed decision. Put her picture on the school wall for exemplary dedication to her students, & as an example for others to emulate. Do that & you will make your school a much better place to improve young minds.
