This is what caring and committed educators do when they are about the business of educating our children. Part of that treasured vocation is to care for the whole student.

We don't even have a school nurse at our school. And Mitts was already in trouble because she would just leave at random times leaving her class unattended with no one to cover for her. Her "good deed" was one of these times when she just left, telling no one. None of you know

We need more teachers like Miss Mitts. This is ridiculous and the student was well over legal age. Principal Roberts is misguided.

The USA is too preoccupied with PC, this is a case of doing the right thing, not endangering the 20-year old student.

There may have been better ways for the teach to have handled this situation, but the school administrators seem to be far in the wrong here, and should be courageous enough to right this injustice.

What a disgraceful situation. Questions must be raised as to why when a student takes ill during school time (when the school is responsible for the students) a teacher has to foot the bill to get the student treatment. Principal, sort out proper medical care for your students and give Miss Mitts her job back...better still, sort out medical care, reinstate Mitts then resign you incompetent fool!

Can we have her? As a parent, I'm far more inclined to support the teacher who put a childs real needs above those of the beaurocracy. The principal needs to pull their head out of their hiney and take a look at what the stand they're taking really says about their ultimate values. Apparrently those values are CYA, not the welfare of their students. Lovely, just lovely. I want her to be my kids teacher.

Don't know her but that's a sweet gesture! I hope she gets to come back!

Maybe Mr. Roberts does not understand the value of a human life. Why on earth would you not be concerned for a student's safety, especially if the student were to be injured or even die on his school grounds? Is it because he gets a nice comfy salary/wage? He needs to be knocked down a peg.
