This is BS... She is an American Citizen and it is her right to pay for a students medical bill out of her pocket if she wishes to

The high school officials must be retarded. I think she should have gotten an award for what she did instead of getting fired. It's so upsetting that someone would get punished for being human and doing a good deed. I really hope she gets her job back and an apology.

Not only should the teacher Ms Mitts be brought back, the head of the school board should be fired and the stupid rules be stricken from the roster of rules.

What if the student had died? She saved the school from a massive lawsuit.

This teacher is an American hero with a heart of gold. How often do we see teachers that still care? And this is how the system treats them?

She took care of a student. She is s tellar human being. The student was extremely sick AND pregnant. Ms Mitts is an amazing woman.

This woman should be given a promotion and a medal.... She's a hero for helping out someone in need. What the heck is wrong with you

Mitts is an example of compassion in action. Helping sick students get the care they need and even paying the bill since one of them had no insurance is a stellar example of a teacher caring for her students beyond the classroom walls. Ms. Mitts is not a liability. She is an asset to her student, RBHS and the community. Bring Mitts Back!

This is just shameful. A woman like this should be exalted, not cast out.

This teacher's actions are exemplary and she's exactly the kind of person needed to educate our next generation of humanity. Personally, I wouldn't want anyone who ignores such grievious sickness in charge of another's care.

This principle is despicable. More interested in her authority and ticking boxes than the welfare of her students. I hope she is is fired and spends the rest of her life of welfare, desperately hoping that someone as kind-hearted as Mitts will take pity on her.

To fire this teacher is madness. Ms. Mitts shou ld be named "Teacher of the Year."
