Please return Poseidon to his family. Yes he is state property but dogs have loyalty and I doubt if he will perform to the maximum while on duty. He will soon be a liability to the force and might destroy him

This both saddens and angers me. The mayor, and anyone else supporting the decision to take Poseidon clearly has no understanding of german shepherd behavior and loyalty. This sounds political. The community taxpayer money PAID for Poseidon and the citizens want him to stay with his FAMILY. The city is being offered the full price of the dog, along with a new K9 AND training for such. This is outrageous. Return Poseidon to his rightful home.

God, what drama. Seems like the public would be better served by some adult supervision. How hard is it to retire a dog, let it stay with it's family, and receive money and gifts for a new dog. Yes, there will be an learning period, but I would assume that Poseidon would need time to become familiar living in a new place and working with a new handler just as a new dog would. Good luck.

Mayone Gunn needs to RESIGN as he is not fit to mayor! A Chief of Police steps down after receiving over %K of equipment FREE TO THE CITY because of who he and this dog are -- and the thanks given is to rip the dog out of the house and HIDE him??? Officer Patterson is MORE THAN WILLING to reimburse the city for the cost of Poseidon, a NEW dog, TRAINING for the new dog, and anything else -- but it's a POWER PLAY for the Mayor - MAYOR NEEDS TO GO!! GIVE THE DOG BACK, accept the officer's reimbursement $$, and FIRE THE MAYOR!!

not keep Poseidon from his family is an act of cruelty. his family has offered to pay for him PLUS buy a dog to replace him. again it is cruelty for the family and Poseidon to be kept apart!! SHAME!!

Please return the dog to his owner. The harm done to the animal is the same as a child being ripped away from its parents

Do the right thing and let this dog be with his partner. He's offering to replace the dog- and I'm sure camp point really needs a service dog every second of every day. I think the town will be just fine until they get a new one trained.

Let the dog go back to his family. The mayor needs to have a heart. I bet if it was his daughter or granddaughter he would want the animal back too. For someone that is supposed to be a Pillar of the community, you sure are a disgrace Mr Gunn!!!!

Seems like the police are making the dog suffer gecause they are annoyed with the officer that resigned. Give the police dog back to the officer and his family. They will pay the city for him.
