This officer trusted his K9 with his life. Separating that bond is hard to imagine. He served his community and is offering to do the responsibile thing and provide the city with a new K9. Let the man have his dog.

Keep the faith and fight! This happened to me many years ago. After 18 agonizing months, K-9 Heiko was brought home to me.

Let this K9 stay with The Patterson family. A K9 and handler have a deep bond, they have to trust each other totally. The K9 may not even work for another handler

I've always believed that a K-9 should go with the family that has raised, trained and loved by the officer once one or the other leave the department. Am hoping that rules will be rewrtten regarding this issue.
