The k9 belongs with the cheif. Legally he may be city property because of stupid laws, but he is FAMILY and you stole him from his family. Dogs mourn loss of their family. Let the ex chief pay for a new k9 and be done with your mayor looking like a vengeful ass.

There's no legitimate excuse to take this dog away from the only homes he's known. The offer to pay a new dog to be trained, as well as paying for the dog, leaves no excuse for this awful action.

Please allow Steve Patterson and family, to officially adopt K9 Officer Poiseiden.
It is cruel to the Patterson's and the dog to separate them at this point. I worked in prison for years and the K9 handler was always given the first option to take their K9 home permanently, for several reasons, but mostly because the dog would be scarred emotionally, mentally, which can affect him physically, to be separated from the only family he has known, loved and lived with.there was a nominal charge of $1...the Patterson's have offered much more to the city, and obviously adore Poseidon...please do the right thing for this poor dog, and earn the respect of the whole nation, who can then say...Good people, did right by a family and a dog...it's Thanksgiving and Christmas time, season of good will to all men...if you need more thoughts, ask yourself, "What would Jesus do". Thanks and i pray you make the kindest decision!

This is strictly an act of spite on the part of the mayor and city council,the dog was to be paid for as well as a replacent's training.How dare you cause this kind of pain and suffering to an animal bonded to his family. You, mayor, are not doing a service to your office by pulling this stunt.Shame on You!!!!!

Let him have the furbaby! He offered to get you all another dog and have him trained. Do the right thing please. That baby has become his family. Do you really want to have abad publicity because of your property as you say. I think you would take his offer and get a new, younger K-9 by his expense. To me your just being selfish. Let them enjoy retirement together!
