Enough with this cruel treatment of this family, including their dog.
The gentleman was willing to pay for the dog, plus a new dog.
What a bunch of morons running that Dept!

Why ripp him away from the only family he knows and loves and they love him! Canines have heart and emotions just as we do and they feel pain also especially emotional pain of longing for their loved ones and they can become severely depressed and become very withdrawn and just shut down!! What they have done is not just inhuman but it’s cruelty and abuse and neglect to the k9’s well being, whom ever is responsible for this cruel action should be charged with neglect and mental psychological abuse!!!! Please return him to his family

Bad form for the city. By refusing the offer of a new dog and cost of training, you make it seem it's personal as opposed to a business decision. Personally, I think it's unnecessarily cruel and inhumane. Everyone involved in ripping this dog from his family should feel ashamed.

Do the right thing and give Posidian back to his family. I have a German Shepherd and she never lets us out of her sight. This is cruel for the animal and the family! The people in the town will respond when you’re up for re-election!!!

This is beyond comprehension. Govt exceeds their power to harm its citizens. PLEASE, next vote take these guys out of their positions of power and mess with THEIR lives. Shame on them. Good luck.

This beautiful baby deserves to be with the family she has always known. A dog is not a thing to be padsed to the next person.

A K9 is an Officer. The Police Dept does NOT own a police officer. A K9 is not city property. The reason this K9 officer has served his department, the city, is because his primary duty is to protect his partner. There is a very strong bond with his partner & the family who made him part of their family by loving & caring for him. All those pieces go into making a special K9 officer. Let him retire & live out his life with the family who loves him. There is no dollar amount that can ever equal the service this K9 has given his community. Let him live with his family. All animals have emotions. This K9 officer is not "a thing" so please don't treat him like he is a piece of equipment.

German Shepherds are very one family oriented. True blue and he should get to stay with his family. With the over abundance of animals leaving the guy with his family should be no big deal. Let the man pay for the new k9.

Why would the Quincy Police Department do this? Please allow Poseidon to stay with his family. There are enough dogs looking for loving homes-this one has one!!!
