The grammys are just like the voting process in this country. If one is nominated, as I was in 2013, For "moving Pictures Orchestra"; in order to win a grammy, you have to have a "machine" in place to solicit voters, and the grammy officers in the various cities where the grammyoffices are located.

I stopped watching the Grammy telecast when I found out that there were jazz and classical categtoried, but they were never to be included on the telecast.

As a musician, Jazz is woven into all parts of my art. As an American, Jazz is a huge part of our music history. As a Jazz listener, it is vital that this art form be given back its voice at the Grammy's. Without a doubt, I believe the viewing public could be blown away by the magic that a Jazz ensemble would bring to the Grammy stage in a way that surpasses a Beyonce opener. I vote YES to putting Jazz back on stage at the Grammy's!!

Jazz should be heard AND seen at the Grammy's. It is a large part of the music scene in Europe and the rest of the English speaking world and deserves to have its status re-instated as a world music.

Having taught vocal and instrument music, classical music AND jazz, it is SO IMPORTANT that the folks who are giving out the awards take a step back from the immediacy of the "personalities of the moment" and truly recognize the only real AMERICAN art form; JAZZ! What the awards go to now are the lowest common denominators, including labels and artists that are pushed so they get publicity or make big bucks. Egos should never trump education, dedication, great writing and excellent musicality. If most performers today lost their microphones, they would be lost as well. A great prof once told us, if there's a power failure, don't lose your talent. So in my class, you will really learn how to sing!

Until jazz is back on commercial radio and back in the commercial mainstream it is a losing battle to get it on the telecast portion of the Grammys.

Grammys support the dumbing down of America- How about letting people know there is still musci out there that isn't about superficiality!
