The absence of jazz in the grammy presentation is simply a continuation of the "dumbing down" of America and it's audiences. Jazz is THE true American musical art form and its absence in the grammy presentation is evidence of the flawed emphasis on the base, banal and lowest common demoninator of our society's consumerism mentality.

I totally agree with this petition. Musicians are the backbone of all music. Name a genera musicians are not a part of and yet musicians get no recognition or awards for their musical contribution. Singers, Producers, Writers, Bands, Vocal Performances all get recognition at the Grammy Awards but Jazz has fallen by the wayside far too long and Im so sick of it I could puke.

Jazz should be back in the Grammy's because it will never go away and it the longest lasting. Jazz is the only American Art form and not to have it be a part of these and any other awards is disrespectful.

It seems that, if someone from the jazz community wins an award, it is done apart from the Grammys broadcast. The reason I stopped watching the 'painful' night of mixed 'pop'.
