Not snubbed-ignored. And after the brilliant Herbie Hancock and Esperanza Spalding wins, it looked like this was changing, but again, back to the glitz and noise, even in the face of the wonderful Gregory Porter win. What a treat that performance would have been for the viewing public, and for the Jazz world to embrace with pride.

Jazz is part of our heritage and should be included in the Grammies. It's not just us "older folks" who appreciate jazz; there are "younger folks" who do as well.

We know that Jazz was created by American. For the world to enjoy and maybe someone does not want this to be spread or honor. So I say why not have the jazz awards.

Jazz deserves to be there more than Rap, at least it's real music.

for a truly american art form, its a sin that it doesn't get the respect that it deserves. I'm going on 26 years of doing my jazz radio show and every year for the past few years, no jazz on the Grammy's :-(

Jazz is America's unique contribution to the world of music. Many pop and R&B musicians draw their inspiration from jazz, which for over a century continues to be cutting edge of a multitude of genres. Because it is such a profound influence and true expression of American spirit, jazz has a rightful place in the media. We owe it to ourselves and to future generations of music lovers.

Jazz music is an American art form. The Grammys can recognize top selling mainstream artists, certainly, AND other genres, such as jazz, which defines and enriches our society.
